Community Development Intern – Duarte, CA

Requirements: Must be Enrolled in or recent completion of a educational program related to planning, engineering, political science, public administration or a closely related field; desirous of entering the public sector workforce as a career goal; comfortable working in a Mac environment; highly proficient in Word and Excel software; bi-lingual English-Spanish is a plus, but not required or expected. Professional Planning/Real Estate Intern – Los Angeles, CA

Requirements: Must be a student of an urban planning, public administration, real estate or related field with some work or internship experience is preferred.  An ideal candidate will have a strong interest in innovative urban planning approaches, (i.e. mixed-use design, complete streets, walkable neighborhoods, transit-oriented development, and affordable housing). Candidates must possess strong writing and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Proficiency with the GIS, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is a plus. This is a paid position at $15.00 an hour. Application Instructions: The opportunity starts in Fall 2016 (16-20 hours per week) with the option to continue into the 2016-2017 school year, and has the potential to grow into a full time position. The internship opportunity is based on B&B’s project workload which dictates the needs of the position. Regional Planning Assistant – Los Angeles County, CA

Requirements: Option I:  *A bachelor’s degree in Urban or Regional Planning from an accredited four-year college.

Option II:  *A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with specialization in Environmental Studies, Geography, Urban Studies, Public Administration, or Landscape Architecture, with 15 semester or 22.5 quarter units of upper division courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Urban or Regional Planning, Cartography, Urban Geography and/or Environmental Planning.

Metro Entry Level Trainee Program – Los Angeles, CA (PAID)

Description: The Metro Entry Level Trainee Program (ELTP) offers recent college graduates an opportunity to gain professional work experience in public transportation. Selected ELTP participants will learn about the transportation industry under the close direction of experienced staff. Participants will receive meaningful assignments and provide assistance to transit professionals while gaining experience to build a career in public transit. The types of ELTP opportunities offered to recent graduates may include but are not limited to: transit operations, construction/sustainability, graphic design, urban planning, human resources, marketing research, media relations and administration.
